Scholar in Collars provides the most comprehensive program due to our unique structure. We separate your dog's education into 3 primary areas that are structured to complement each other, why take several courses in a row when you can do it all at once: Obedience - FAMILY PET OBEDIENCE CLASSES Canine Parenting and Problem Solving - BEHAVIOR SEMINAR Puppy Socialization & Manners - PUPPY DROP IN CLASS This allows us to focus on each area in detail. All three are paramount to your puppy's development. Each one enhances the other in order to have a truly complete education for your dog. LEVEL 1 FAMILY PET OBEDIENCE CLASS FOR PUPPIES AND DOGS OF ALL AGES (10 WEEKS IS IDEAL FOR PUPS) * Puppies go right into Level One, due to our unique program structure there is no need to do a Puppy Pre-Course prior to doing your real basic training in Level One. This course is designed to give you the necessary tools to achieve an educated, obedient and happy dog using scientifically proven positive methods. Dog training is a well studied field and ideas of dominance, threat, fear and taking control have long been de-bunked and frankly recommended against due to the risk of long-term negative behavioral side effects. It is unnecessary to have an adversarial relationship with your dog in order to educate your canine companion. You will learn to teach your dog sit, down, stand, stay, wait, come when distracted, to walk on a loose leash and most importantly to pay attention. A key to our program is that you learn how distractions and temptations can work for you instead of against you. You will learn to how to have an obedient dog without any harsh or threatening techniques. Training should not be something you "subject" your dog to, but should be a fun activity you do together. A truly happy well trained dog is buoyant and obedient and not the product of threat and suppression.
